Homeport

So we drove to Homeport and settled in quickly. Everything we needed was there. The beds are comfy. The rooms are set up like you are revisiting your family vacation home. But the views are spectacular. You can walk to many places. You can cook your own food at Homeport or walk to the general store/cafe for some great food and some mighty nice people. Walk down to the beach and pop seaweed - still love that from childhood. You're close to the candy store, Land's End and directly across from the land trust which is has a perimeter grassy path that allows you to check out the meadow of many native plants. Many birds are all around but the waves are the best. Listen to the ocean, watch the boats and the lobster workers at Glen's Lobsters. Have a happy day and fall asleep listening to the waves gently crashing. Our days were a mix of clouds and sun with some rain, but certainly no disappointment. Three adults and one dog had a most happy time. So take a trip, explore, observe and rejuvenate in this peaceful place. Homeport is home.

The home was clean but some of the furnishings are a bit worn. Lots of space and supplies, just missing luggage racks in bedrooms.

Homeport was our base for a late August coastal Maine vacation. The house was perfect for us. We enjoyed the fantastic view across Mackerel cove, and the beautifully appointed home. Everything we hoped it would be!

The very best features of this house were the views. They were stunning- back and front. Walkable to 2 beaches. Great beds too. Other furnishings were worn and a bit tattered. Be sure to re-wash all dishes before use. We found most including glasses with
Some food residue. After some initial housekeeping, we had a wonderful stay at Homeport!

This was our 3rd time staying at HOMEPORT. Starting 20 years ago we fell in love with the area and finding HOMEPORT as a place to stay has been perfect. We have a dog and having the Park only a few feet away is a blessing and having beaches on both sides of the house is incredible. Perfect vacation spot.

We have rented this home several times and absolutely love it. The kitchen is well stocked and the bedrooms are comfortable and have plenty of room. We love the location right on Mackerel Cove with access to Back Beach.

We loved the easy access to beaches in front of and behind the house which made our stay with our two young children and dog so much more relaxing. The house was lovely, comfortable and well-equipped and the team from MaineStay was extremely responsive. Can’t wait to return!

This is our second stay at Homeport (the first one was 7 years ago!) and we couldn't have loved it more. The location is amazing - right at the end of Mackerel Cove - with views on the front and back. The kitchen is great - really well equipped and we loved our stay!

We have stayed at HOMEPORT a couple times and each time has been outstanding. The house is great and the location is incredible. We will continue to visit!

4 family members stayed at this comfortable house. It has wonderful views, a nearby beach, many walking opportunities and lots of places to sit, chat and relax. It is nicely furnished with comfortable coastal decor that makes you feel like you are at home. A walk to the nearby General Store allowed my son and I a chance to catch up and we sat outside to enjoy some terrific sandwiches for lunch. There are lots of places to go and then you come back home to the cottage that really feels like home. And my dog liked it too!

The location is perfect for kayaking (water access to the back and the front and kayaks can be left on the boardwalk in the back for extra convenience). Lots of activity during the day to watch and enjoy. Bedroom suite with bath on the first floor is perfect for elderly guests who don't do stairs. The front porch and upper balcony were wonderful places to enjoy the views! Plan to return.

We had been renting another home (by owner) until they sold their home during COVID. We loved the house and loved the area. When we found the house through MaineStay we were skeptical. When our vacation was over (unfortunately over) we were thrilled. Everything was seamless. The online booking was easy. I had a couple questions which I picked up the phone for. The girls were very accommodating on the phone. It was our first vacation in 2+ years......and well worth the wait.

'Homeport' is the perfect Maine beach house. Our family of five truly enjoyed our stay as the house was in the perfect location on Bailey Island with direct access to a private family friendly beach. The house was very clean and provided us with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. I highly recommend 'Homeport' if you are looking for a fun, relaxing place to stay while enjoying the beauty of Maine!

We came here two years ago and never wanted to go home again. Bailey Island is so peaceful and this house in particular is perfect because of its location. Most relaxing vacation I've ever had!
