Gull's Rest

well equipped accommodations made for a very nice stay. A little on the rustic side, but in great shape with all the modern amenities you will need for a great home base duringr your Maine vacation. Parking is limited to 2 small to mid-sized vehicles. Otherwise, everything else was great.

We had a wonderful time at Gull’s rest - it is an adorable cottage in a beautiful location. The bedrooms upstairs are quite small, but work well if all you need to do is sleep in them!

The Town of Harpswell is a beautiful, off the beaten path, quaint and typically Maine small town! This home is kind of hidden away on the edge of Casco Bay. It was just beautiful! The home was cozy and comfortable and a great home base for exploring. The management company was friendly and helpful with the few questions I had for them. We would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic place.....beautiful location and simple, clean, classic summertime casita. Only issue.....and to be expected....one bathroom (downstairs, bedrooms are upstairs) and paper thin walls between bedrooms.....but it is as advertised....sunrises, walks, good restaurants relatively nearby.....

Very pleasant stay. Well-appointed house. Be aware that there’s just the one bath, and it’s downstairs. The bedrooms are small and one wall in each slopes, but the beds are quite comfortable. The photos on the website are accurate.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Such a quiet, little gem of a neighborhood. The neighbors we spoke to on our walks were all so very friendly and welcoming. Shared many recommendations of nearby restaurants and places and beaches to go to explore, if we wanted to wander far. Honestly, enjoying this very tastefully decorated cottage and the incredible joys of the sea was Vacation, in itself. Mainestay owners were wonderful communicating with me from the minute of booking, arrival, our stay and departure. I truly recommend this property to all. We definitely want to stay here again. Gull’s Rest is beautifully situated on Hurricane
Ridge in South Harpswell, Maine. The cottage is
well equipped and well maintained. It was thoroughly
cleaned prior to our arrival, making it very easy
for us to move in and feel very comfortable due
to its spotless condition. Having access to
bottled water in the kitchen was an extra bonus
given the questionable quality of tap water on
Hurricane Ridge. Not having to take the trash to
the recycling center was another added bonus.
The beautiful deck has numerous chairs which
were great for reading, enjoying the view, having
a glass of wine, and overall relaxing. As
one who enjoys grilling, I really appreciated
the Weber grill. Weber makes a first rate product-
kudos to the owners for not cutting corners
on the gas grill. Although the kitchen is somewhat
small, cooking supplies, dishes etc. were very
adequate for our needs. Two minor concerns
we’re having to make the beds on arrival, especially
tedious in the room with the Queen bed given
the tight contours of the front room and getting
out of the right side of the bed is something
of a gymnastic feat- its very easy to bump
one’s head on the ceiling. Nonetheless
I would still give the cottage, overall,
an excellent rating. I would also add that
the property managers were superb and
extremely helpful.

This house took me back in time to a nice summer cottage by the sea. The house was very functional and the amenities outstanding. The only thing better than the house itself was the view off the back overlooking the inlet. Beautiful natural scenery all around, easy access to all that the area has to offer. You can fully relax here or spend days exploring the area and staying busy from this wonderfully located property.

We truly relaxed and enjoyed this lovely property. Clean as a whistle and supplied with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Bring as much as you can in the grocery department so you can relax and enjoy as the nearest grocery store is 16 miles away. Friends had advised us ahead of time so we were prepared and were able to chill and enjoy the wonderful view and surroundings!

Such a lovely holiday cottage -- so well-appointed, sparkly clean, and the right balance of charming and functional. We loved the quiet spot right on the sea, and found the residential / year-round feel of the neighborhood to be a welcome difference to the more seasonal/touristy islands. There are at least 2 easy, beautiful walks you can take right from the front door, and the neighbors are friendly and with local advice if you ask. The big deck, with the sea right there -- it's a magical place!

A fun CLEAN place to stay! Great to sit in the chairs on the back lawn and watch the water and boats while eating ice cream! Convenient to many fun places in Maine.

Gull's Rest is the perfect Work from Home location! We were able to take evening and weekend excursions to balance our day. There are so many trails, quaint shops and top notch restaurants close by. The view from the property exposed us to the most amazing, never-seen-before sunrises. No filter needed!

We had a wonderful stay at Gulls Rest, a quaint coastal cottage on the bay. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable and the linen service provided nice crisp white sheets and towels. We enjoyed sitting on the Adirondack chairs and watching the sunrise and the ebb and flow of the tides. The wrap around porch with tables and chairs offered a perfect spot for eating meals. We took day trips to Orrs and Bailey islands and visited Bath and Boothbay Harbour. Lots of great hiking and shopping opportunities. A friend told us about Erikas Lobster Shack about 5 minutes away from the cottage. We had a great time meeting Tommy, the owner, his daughter, Ericka and a few locals while enjoying delicious lobsters and other fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Overall, we a wonderful experience and would definitely return.

We loved staying at the Gull's Rest. The views were everything we hoped for. The location is perfect with hiking trails and things to do within a reasonable driving distance.
