COVID-19 UPDATES

Updates from our MaineStay Vacations Crew

As the world continues to navigate the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), our team is diligently working to refine our processes and procedures in this uncertain time. We are doing our best to navigate these unchartered waters, but as has always been the case, and as always will be the case, the wellbeing of our guests, homeowners, and employees remains our top priority.

Using the information provided by the CDC and the World Health Organization (WHO), along with state and local authorities, we are staying abreast of the virus and its impact on our industry and the local community. Naturally, we are making decisions with you in mind.  As the situation evolves over the coming weeks, we will regularly evaluate our processes and procedures, keeping you informed of any changes.

Effective May 18, 2020, MaineStayVacations has been approved by the State of Maine to accept reservations and agrees to comply with guidelines provided by the state, which can be found here.

This health crisis is challenging us in ways we never could have anticipated, but we are determined to grow and improve as a result.  Our MaineStay Vacations team always rallies in times of need. Rest assured that we are committed to taking care of you and your families, and we remain committed to providing you with an exceptional vacation experience.

MSV Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy, as stated below, remains effective for reservations for 2021.

We understand that emergencies arise which may prevent you from keeping a reservation, but we ask that you consider all options, including rescheduling, prior to requesting a cancellation.  Our company incurs expenses for every reservation we process, and unfortunately we are not able to recoup all of them when a reservation is cancelled.  Our cancellation policy is structured to protect our small business, as well as the homeowners we represent.  Should you have an emergency that prevents you from honoring the reservation, we will work with you to try to rent the same period to someone else. Please call or email us to discuss how this works and what, if any, refund of monies may be possible.  Our full cancellation policy is as follows:

Guests who cancel at least 60 days before check-in will be refunded 100% of the amount they've paid, less the processing/management fee for administrative costs associated with their reservation. If cancelled between 30 and 60 days before check-in, guests are responsible for the deposit they have made (generally 50% of the total reservation cost). If cancelled less than 30 days before check-in, no refund is due. If we are able to rebook your dates, we will refund the amount paid less the processing/management fee for administrative costs.

Cleaning Protocol

MaineStay Vacations, and the cleaning company we utilize, is committed to following cleaning and sanitization procedures as established by industry leaders.  We will use EPA-registered disinfectants, and will pay particular attention to frequently touched surfaces.  Our linens and towels will continue to be professionally laundered and sanitized by Pratt Abbott, whose powerful cleaning agents and high-temperature finishing offer a higher level of disinfection than we could ever provide ourselves.  If ordered, sheets and towels will be delivered to each property, and will be left in their sealed packaging.  We hope the peace of mind gained by knowing linens are received in sterilized condition will outweigh the inconvenience of having to make beds upon arrival.

As always, we welcome your questions or concerns.  We may be reached by email at rentals@homesandharbors.com, or you can always leave us a voicemail at 207-833-5337, and we will make every effort to respond in a timely manner.
